Let’s Lighten-up: Socially

I was reminded of a Twitter superstar when letting my polydactyl cat in from outside the other night. No, the Twitter superstar wasn’t Ashton Kutcher or Kim Kardashian. It was “socks”- or full-name: Sockington the cat.
His story is not unlike my cat’s story. He was an abandoned stray who connected with someone and made his rounds until he landed in the perfect home. He is truly the modern day equivalent of Dick Whittington’s cat. He has captured the hearts of many – 1,487,649, at the time of this blog posting, to be exact. Yes, that’s how many fans this cat has on Twitter. Thanks – in no small part to his owner’s clever presentation of a cat’s thoughts.
Someone recently told me that I should pay attention to a certain new media mogul because he has 70,000+ followers on Twitter. That his social media status makes him a big-shot and gosh darn-it, I should take heed. I hope you enjoy the humor in that as much as I do. Sometimes we take our social equity a little too seriously.
Follow Sockington’s tweets, it’ll bring a smile to your face:
